An aerial display is a display that allows you to operate a touch panel without touching images floating in the air. It consists of modules of a display, an optical element (aerial display plate), and a sensor.
In general, aerial displays are mainly deployed in reception machines, digital signage, etc. in hotels and offices, but this is the world's first proof-of-concept for POS registers. With this technology, the cash register screen is imaged in the air, and the image floating in the air can be operated in the same way as a touch panel. This technology was jointly developed by Seven-Eleven Japan, Toshiba Tec, Asuka Net, Kanda Kogyo, Mitsui Chemicals, and Mitsui Bussan Plastics.
Digital POS payment methods are nanaco, transportation electronic money, iD, QUICPay+, Rakuten Edy, credit/debit card, barcode payment, and Apple Pay. Liquor, cigarettes, stamps, postcards, revenue stamps, courier services, public utility charges, etc., internet payment, store deposit, cash vouchers, and various electronic money charges cannot be used.
Through a new shopping experience, the company will proceed with verification with the aim of creating sales opportunities by saving space at checkout counters and providing safety and security by completely contactless.
